Terms of Service

Last updated September 10, 2026

This is drafted content, not reviewed by a lawyer. It has not been finalized for real legal reliance and should not be treated as a substitute for professional legal advice. Until a qualified attorney has reviewed it, treat this page as a description of intent, not an enforceable contract.

1. What this is, and what it is not

Lunchbox Safe is a lunch-planning and organizational tool. It helps parents and teachers keep track of a classroom's stated food restrictions and filter meal ideas, barcode scans, and grocery suggestions against those restrictions.

Lunchbox Safe is not a medical device, is not medical advice, and does not diagnose, treat, or guarantee anything about any food, product, or ingredient. It does not replace reading a physical food label, checking with your child's school, or consulting your child's doctor or allergist. Ingredient formulations, sourcing, and manufacturing practices change without notice, and no automated system — including this one — can guarantee that a food is safe for a specific child.

2. No warranty; use at your own discretion

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Every result the app shows — a lunch suggestion, a barcode scan result, a classroom restriction list — is based on information that may be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong. You are solely responsible for independently verifying, every time, that a food is appropriate for your child before it is eaten. Use of this app, and any decision made based on it, is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

3. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lunchbox Safe and the people who built and operate it are not liable for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, death, or other harm or loss arising from or related to your use of, or reliance on, this app — including harm resulting from the app showing an incorrect, incomplete, or outdated allergen classification (a "false" result) for any food, product, or classroom restriction. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory asserted, to the maximum extent the law allows.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Read the physical label of any packaged food yourself, every time, regardless of what this app shows.
  • Confirm your child's classroom restrictions directly with their teacher or school.
  • Consult your child's doctor or allergist for anything related to diagnosis, severity, or emergency response.
  • Keep your child's allergy and medical information accurate and current in the app, and understand that the app only knows what you and your classroom's teacher have entered.
  • Do not rely on this app as the sole safeguard for a child with a severe or life-threatening allergy.

5. Accounts and classroom data

You're responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, and for keeping your account credentials associated with a real email address you control. Classroom-level information (restrictions, rules, the shared grocery list) is visible to other verified members of that same classroom — see the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Changes, termination, and governing law

These terms may change as the app develops; continued use after a change means you accept the update. Accounts may be suspended or removed for misuse. These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles — subject to review by qualified counsel.
