About Lunchbox Safe

Lunchbox Safe was built for one real child who goes into anaphylaxis on exposure to several common foods, and for their classroom — a Montessori primary room where every family packs around the same set of restrictions every single day. It started as a way to stop reinventing lunch from scratch each morning, and to make sure a classroom's allergen list stays the actual floor every suggestion is built on top of, never something a convenient recipe can quietly override.

The founding classroom, Ms. Cecilia's room at Arbor Montessori in Atlanta, uses the app free, permanently, as thanks for being the reason it exists.

What Lunchbox Safe is for

Planning lunches and snacks that fit a classroom's stated restrictions, checking a scanned barcode against those restrictions, and keeping a classroom-wide list of grocery items other parents have already checked. It is a planning and coordination tool — not a medical device, and not a substitute for reading a label yourself. Where things stand

This is an early, actively-developed tool being piloted with one real classroom. Its food and allergen data has not yet been reviewed by a dietitian, and this page, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. We'd rather say that plainly than let anyone assume more polish than currently exists.
